Science
This term, Year 4 will be learning about States of Matter. We will explore the properties of solids, liquids and gases, investigate how materials change state through heating and cooling, and learn about processes such as melting, freezing, evaporation and condensation. They will also discover how these changes are linked to the water cycle.

Also this year, we will be learning about Seasonal Changes. We will observe and compare how the environment changes throughout the year, explore patterns in weather and daylight hours, and investigate how plants, animals and people adapt to different seasons. We will develop our observation skills and learn how seasonal changes affect the world around us.
Geography
Art and Design
This term, Year 4 will be learning about the artist J.M.W. Turner, one of Britain’s most famous painters. We will explore Turner’s use of colour, light and movement, study some of his famous landscapes and seascapes, and learn about the techniques he used to create atmosphere in his artwork. We will then use these ideas to create our own Turner-inspired pieces.
