Why Choose Our School?

Holy Family is a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious learning community where every pupil is known, valued and supported. Believing that academic achievement is rooted in strong pastoral care and wellbeing, we ensure that pupils feel safe, confident and ready to learn.

Rooted in strong Catholic values, kindness and respect shape daily life in our school. We support pupils to develop resilience, confidence and a positive attitude to learning, preparing them for the next stage of their education and beyond.

Our ambitious and engaging curriculum inspires curiosity and a love of learning. High expectations, skilled teaching and personalised support ensure that all pupils are challenged and helped to achieve their full potential, whatever their starting point.

A whole-staff, wrap-around approach ensures pupils receive consistent care and guidance. By working closely together, every member of our team works to create a supportive environment where pupils feel secure, build resilience and flourish both in and beyond the classroom.

We offer a wide range of enriching extracurricular opportunities designed to complement classroom learning. These include a variety of sports, musical activities and after-school clubs that cater to different interests and talents. Through participation, pupils are encouraged to explore new passions, build confidence, and develop essential skills such as teamwork, leadership and time management.

Working in close partnership with parents and carers, our welcoming community provides a strong sense of belonging. With dedicated staff and a caring ethos, Holy Family is a place where children truly thrive.

What Do Our Parents Say?

'I chose The Holy Family Catholic Primary school back in 2014 when my eldest child joined school. I have since had four more children attend the school, two of which are currently attending. Everyone is incredibly kind, caring and supportive to the needs of all children, treating parents and children as family. I find that all teachers are extremely welcoming and approachable and have always been able to communicate any worries I may have comfortably. Staff have supported all of my children and every other pupil enrolled in all areas, encouraging them to achieve their highest potential and supported them in building confidence, helping them to believe in themselves. I would highly recommend the school to anyone who is looking.'

'As soon as I stepped foot through the doors, we instantly felt welcomed, safe and loved. The amount of attention to detail when caring for every child was so reassuring, and  for my son, that is just what he needs.
I'm so thankful to everyone for the amount of support they have given him and myself. My son has really blossomed and I couldn't be more grateful.'

'Since our son first joined 13 years ago, with our daughter joining 7 years later, we’ve had nothing but positive experiences with Holy Family. Staff have always been approachable and supportive and have provided a welcoming and caring environment throughout. We’ve been really happy with our choice and would happily recommend the school to other families.'

'We became part of Holy Family 'family' in 2018 when our son was enrolled into Reception year.  We had such a positive experience that we couldn't wait for our daughter to join in 2022. From the beginning, both children excelled in their learning. They have been fully supported with kindness and care throughout their time at Holy Family who fully truly  embraced us a family. As parents, we have always been welcomed into school to take part in 'look in and learn sessions', sports days and pupil led Mass in church. We couldn't be prouder to say our children attend and thrive at Holy Family!'

'As a Muslim family, choosing a Catholic school for our boys was an important decision, and Holy Family Catholic Primary School made us feel welcomed from the very beginning. The school has always shown respect for our faith while teaching strong Christian values that align closely with our own -  kindness, compassion, respect and care for others.  Our boys learn about God in an environment rooted in love and understanding and they are encouraged to be thoughtful, respectful individuals. There is a genuine sense of family at Holy Family, where diversity is embraced and every child is valued. We are deeply grateful for the nurturing, inclusive community that supports our children so well.'

'Holy Family school has demonstrated an excellent commitment to pupils’ wellbeing and inclusion. My son previously struggled with eating, which affected his confidence and engagement. The school identified this need and introduced strategies to support and encourage him in a positive and structured way. Through consistent encouragement, clear routines and weekly rewards, my son’s attitude to eating has improved significantly. He is now motivated, looks forward to mealtimes and takes pride in his progress. This approach shows the school’s strong understanding of individual needs and its ability to put effective, child-centred strategies in place. Staff are attentive, proactive and genuinely invested in pupils’ personal development and wellbeing, not just academic outcomes. In addition to this, the school teaches children about God, helping them develop good values such as kindness, respect, gratitude and love. I believe this rounded approach reflects very positively on the school’s care, leadership and inclusive practices, and I am extremely pleased with the support my child has received.'

What do our Pupils Say?

" There is a multitude of lessons and activities, each filled with times to question and involve yourself fully."

" I would choose this school because, if I was a parent and my child didn't like lots of people, we are a small, safe school where everyone knows everyone."

"Holy Family is great because I feel I can express myself to others and teachers and I'm reassured that school is a safe place."

" I recommend this school to others because of the way the adults treat us: comforting, safe and wanted. Even if you look or act differently, everyone still treats you with respect."

"I would choose this school because the adults here keep you safe as well as educate you. The lessons are fun and you learn so much very day. As well as learning, there are also lots of fun events which make this school the best choice."

" One reason I like this school is because of the cook - she makes really good dinners! I would also choose this school we learn lots and are given lots of tactics to learn with."
